RBI Floating Rate Savings Bonds 2020 (Taxable)
These bonds are issued by the Government of India under the RBI framework. They have very low credit risk, but investors must still consider liquidity, changing interest rates and tax.
How is the 8.05% rate calculated?
With NSC at 7.70%, the applicable rate for July–December 2026 is 8.05% p.a. The next reset is on 1 January 2027.
The rate is reset every 1 January and 1 July; it is not fixed for all seven years. Interest is credited half-yearly to the registered bank account. There is no cumulative option.

Minimum ₹1,000 in multiples thereof; no maximum limit.
Eligibility
Resident individuals, joint holders, guardian for a minor and HUF. NRIs are not eligible.

Held in a Bond Ledger Account (BLA), with nomination facility.

Tax and TDS

हे बाँड भारत सरकारकडून RBIच्या यंत्रणेतून जारी केले जातात. Credit risk अत्यंत कमी असला तरी liquidity, बदलता व्याजदर आणि करपरिणाम समजून घेणे आवश्यक आहे.
8.05% व्याजदर कसा ठरतो?
NSCचा दर 7.70% असल्यामुळे जुलै–डिसेंबर 2026 साठी 8.05% वार्षिक दर लागू आहे. पुढील reset 1 जानेवारी 2027 रोजी होईल.
हा दर संपूर्ण सात वर्षांसाठी fixed नसतो. प्रत्येक 1 जानेवारी आणि 1 जुलैला तो बदलू शकतो. व्याज सहा महिन्यांनी नोंदणीकृत बँक खात्यात जमा होते. Cumulative पर्याय नाही.
